Night photography of wildlife in Järbo
Spend a night in the heart of the forest and experience wildlife up close. From a specially designed hide, you have the chance to observe and photograph badgers, foxes, martens and other woodland animals, sometimes just a few metres away.
Information
In a peaceful forest clearing just outside Järbo, you’ll find Wild Nordic’s Water Station, a photography hide beside a small pool where forest animals come to drink, bathe and search for food. Here, a unique nature experience awaits, allowing you to observe wildlife on its own terms.
As dusk falls and the lights at the Water Station are switched on, your chances of spotting nocturnal visitors increase. Badgers are particularly fascinating to watch, but with a little luck, foxes, martens or owls may also appear. In the early morning, small birds, woodpeckers and squirrels take centre stage in the natural daylight.
Upon arrival, you’ll receive an introduction before your guide shows you to the hide. Then, a night of tranquillity, anticipation and wildlife encounters awaits. The hide accommodates two people and is equipped with comfortable seating, sleeping facilities and a simple toilet. For photographers, there are dedicated photography openings, one-way glass and supports for camera equipment.
You don’t need to be an experienced wildlife photographer to enjoy this experience. Simply sitting quietly and watching the animals come and go can be just as rewarding. As everything happens on nature’s terms, every night is unique and wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
In the morning, you’ll return from the hide to enjoy a breakfast buffet. If you need some rest after your night in the forest, a guest room is also available before your journey home.
