Over the past decade, the visitors from Småland have established themselves as familiar opponents in Swedish women’s hockey, and their meetings with Brynäs have on several occasions continued well beyond the regular season. HV71 have also come close to going all the way, with several appearances in the Swedish Championship Final demonstrating the level the club has been able to reach in the women’s game. As they travel north from the shores of Lake Vättern to Gävle, another battle awaits between two clubs with high ambitions and plenty of experience from important games.
