he visitors from Östergötland have a proud history in Swedish women’s hockey and quickly established themselves among the country’s leading teams after launching their women’s programme in 2004. Their greatest achievements came with back-to-back Swedish Championship titles in 2014 and 2015, followed by several seasons in which Linköping continued to challenge deep into the playoffs. The meeting with Brynäs brings together two clubs that know what it takes to go all the way and that have featured many prominent names in Swedish women’s hockey over the years. Linköping therefore arrive in Gävle carrying plenty of tradition and sporting pedigree. The stage is set at Monitor ERP Arena – and the next chapter between Brynäs and Linköping will be written on the ice.
