Over the past decade, Luleå have made a major impact on Swedish women’s hockey, building an impressive winning culture and collecting a remarkable number of Swedish Championship titles. Their success has also added an extra edge to meetings with Brynäs – two ambitious teams that have faced each other on several occasions when the season has reached its decisive stages. The geographical distance between Luleå and Gävle may be considerable, but years of high-stakes encounters have brought the rivalry on the ice much closer. When the visitors step onto the ice at Monitor ERP Arena, they arrive with an impressive record and high expectations. Everything is in place for a night of hockey where pace, intensity and the battle for valuable points take centre stage.
