There is an extra edge to the SHL action at Monitor ERP Arena as Brynäs IF welcome Luleå Hockey.

It is difficult to look at this fixture without remembering the spring of 2025, when Brynäs and Luleå faced each other in the Swedish Championship final, with the team from Norrbotten eventually winning the series 4–2. It was Luleå’s second Swedish Championship title and their first since 1996, making the triumph a long-awaited chapter in the club’s history. Over the years, Luleå have developed a strong hockey identity built around hard work, team spirit and passionate support for the club. Their return to Gävle therefore brings with it both recent memories and plenty of sporting pride. Now another chapter in the story between Brynäs and Luleå is ready to be written, with valuable SHL points at stake at Monitor ERP Arena.
