The Dal River

The Dalälven is the southernmost of the big rivers of northern Sweden. It extends 541 kilometres between the mountains of Dalarna and the Baltic Sea, which makes it the second longest river in the country.

Information

In the fishery conservation area of Söderfors-Hedesunda (including Hjällsjön), the river has a lake-like character with many islands, but there are also several streams available for fishing.

Within the fishery conservation area, there are put-and-take waters with rainbow trout, such as Hjällsjön. Hjällsjön has several jetties that are accessible by wheelchair.
